Discover the definition of the term Hacking presented by Les Assises de la Cybersécurité.

HACKING

An act of digital malice that consists of exploiting one or more vulnerabilities (technical, logical, human or organisational) in a system or entity in order to bypass its legitimate protections and gain access to it (and sometimes maintain access to it) in order to achieve objectives such as sabotage, espionage, theft or manipulation of information.

However, this definition has not always been the most widely accepted: the original meaning of the term refers more to genius tinkering, driven by the desire to understand how complex systems work (a good hack is therefore also an ingenious modification).

For the cinema, 'hacking' is a brand of hoodie that always fits too big and only comes in black.
