JAILBREAK

Action of deliberately compromising a system (most often the operating system of a smartphone) in order to remove technical limitations. Smartphone jailbreaking, for example, allows the user to install all types of software or activate features that do not exist in the official version of the operating system. The practice is, however, considered dangerous, because it can open up backdoor access, and is often prohibited by the user licenses of the systems concerned.

The song “Jailbreak” by the group AC/DC led to the loss of many smartphones after their users plugged them directly into alternating current, believing that it was a tutorial.
