KILL CHAIN
Series of steps that an attacker must take to achieve their goal. The Kill Chain concept was first imagined in the military field to describe the typical structure of an attack, then adapted to the world of cybersecurity by the American equipment manufacturer Lockheed Martin. In this version, the kill chain includes 7 steps, from target recognition to achieving the objective (exfiltrating data, destroying a system), including initial compromise, establishing persistence or connecting to a command and control center. It is one of the modeling tools at the service of the ISS, although the least operational.
We can say that state hackers enjoy a "License to Kill Chain".
