WEP / WAP

WEP and WAP are two protocols designed to ensure the security of WiFi connections. The first, Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), is the oldest and is no longer considered secure, following the discovery of several critical vulnerabilities. The second, called Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), is still the standard for protecting WiFi communications today. There are 3 versions, the first of which was released in 2003 and the last one was announced in 2018.
