USB (UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS)

The universal serial port (USB) has established itself as the most widespread computer connection on (among others) laptops and desktops. And in terms of cybersecurity, it has also established itself as one of the popular traps for compromising a computer! Because USB allows, under certain conditions, to trigger the execution of a malicious binary barely connected (by inserting a USB key for example), or to simulate the keystrokes of a keyboard, while the connected object has nothing to do with such a device. This allows to send commands as if they came from the user's own keyboard and, for example, to download malicious code. Some devices called USB Killer are even capable of physically damaging the computer to which they are connected by causing an electrical overload.

USB keys are also called "Flash Drives", probably because of what you will see when you connect a USB Killer to your PC before it gives up the ghost.
